Where is Debbie Rowe now? Her secluded life detailed

Debbie Rowe’s claim that she saw Michael Jackson’s dermatologist, Dr. Arnold Klein, prescribe the pop legend dangerous painkillers has reportedly angered the Jackson family. “I was basically as bad as [Klein],” Rowe says in TMZ Investigates: Who Really Killed Michael Jackson. “I regret that. I will regret it. And I am so sorry that I participated in it.”

Rowe married Michael Jackson after the couple met and bonded at Dr. Klein’s clinic. It was a marriage of convenience as Michael wanted children, and Rowe was happy to provide them. Debbie claimed Michael initiated divorce after the complicated birth of her second child left her unable to have more children.

Debbie lives a quiet life on her ranch in Palmdale, California

After the divorce, Debbie Rowe obtained a tasty $8 million settlement and a house in Beverly Hills, California. She gave up her parental rights in 2002.

Rowe sold her Beverly Hills home in 2005 for $1.3 million and purchased a ranch in Palmdale, California. After Jackson’s death in June 2009, Rowe compared herself to the mares on her farm, saying, like them, she was artificially inseminated to have children.

“I was just the vessel,” Rowe said. “It wasn’t Michael’s sperm. They impregnated me. It’s just like I impregnate my mares for breeding. It was very technical. Just like I stick the sperm up my horse, this is what they did to me. I was his thoroughbred.”

Debbie said she and Michael never lived as a couple or had sex. “That was his life,” she said. “That’s Michael. That was what it was like.”

Rowe lives away from the limelight on her Palmdale, California ranch.

It’s unclear if Debbie and Marc Schaffel are still in a relationship

It’s unclear if Debbie is still in a relationship with Marc Schaffel following their engagement in 2014. Schaffel was a videographer and music producer who worked with Michael Jackson on the single What More Can I Give.

Debbie told TMZ that she was unsure about committing to Schaffer because she thought she had cancer. Rowe said:

“Yesterday I went to see Dr. Fuller and he said, ‘You’re good. You’re good to go.’ I drove up to the house and I said, ‘OK, I’m here and I’m gonna be here for a while, so I’m gonna marry you.”

Rowe said she and March hadn’t set a date for their marriage. “I’m happy with just how things are,” Debbie said. “We’ll take it a little bit at a time!”

Two years later, Rowe found out she had breast cancer. “I’m a fighter and always have been,” Debbie told Entertainment Tonight

Debbie reconnected with her daughter Paris, and the pair are close

After Michael passed away, Debbie said she gave up on her children’s custody because she was ‘never cut out to be a mother.’ “I was no good,” she said. “I don’t want these children in my life. My children are my animals now.”

However, later in the year, Debbie petitioned for visitation rights. Rowe and the children’s guardian, Katherine Jackson, agreed that Michael’s mother would have primary custody and Debbie would have visitation rights under the supervision of a child psychologist.

“We were all united in our goals to do what is best for Michael’s wonderful children, and both Mrs. Jackson and Debbie Rowe were on the exact same page,” Mrs. Jackson’s attorneys said.

In a June 2021 interview with Willow Smith on Red Table Talk, Paris Jackson said she didn’t know her mother until she was 15 but had developed a strong relationship with Rowe. Paris said:

“It’s just cool having her as a friend. It’s cool, getting to know her, seeing how similar we are, getting into what kind of music she really likes. She really likes country and folk, so I sent her some stuff I’m working on. We look a lot alike.”

The last post on Debbie Rowe’s dormant Instagram page is a photo of Paris sitting atop Michael Jackson’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. “My baby!” the caption reads.
