Cooper Noriega’s parents: They’ll carry out Cooper’s mental health initiatives

Cooper Noriega’s death in early June 2022 has left his family, fans, and the many celebrities he collaborated with reeling. Noriega was found unresponsive in a mall parking lot on 9th June. Paramedics arrived shortly after a passerby called emergency services but could not revive the social media star.

The local coroner performed an autopsy that didn’t reveal the cause of death. According to People, the medical examiner will conduct further investigation into the passing. “Once the tests/studies come back, the doctor evaluates the case again and makes the cause of death determination,” a spokesperson from the coroner’s office said.

Cooper’s parents posted heartfelt messages on social media following his death

Cooper Noriega was born in June 2002 in Laguna Beach, California, to Treva and Harold Noriega. Harold is a real estate agent, and Treva is a fashion designer specializing in beachwear.

Noriega passed away a day before Harold’s birthday. On 10th June 2020, Harold thanked people for the birthday wishes before describing the period as incredibly difficult for himself and the family.

“We lost our beautiful 19 year old Cooper last evening,” Harold wrote on Facebook. “He was loved by so many and truly the love of Treva’s, Parker’s and my life.”

Harold said he didn’t have the words to ‘express the grief and loss he was experiencing.’ He expressed hope that Cooper had ascended to a better place:

“Your child is not supposed to pass before his parents. Cooper has touched so many people. He recently started a chat on Discord which grew to thousands for those to have a safe place to talk about mental health. My boy was a believer and I know he is in the presence of God. Thank you everyone.”

Treva posted a photo on Instagram thanking people for their support and love for Cooper. She said the family would carry on Cooper’s dreams and aspirations. Like Harold, Trevas expressed hope that Cooper was in heaven:

“My heart is forever broken but you’re my special angel and we have each other’s hearts. I know my mom was holding her arms out bringing you to Heaven. You are finally experiencing the most pure joy and happiness. I’ll see you one day, my baby boy.”

Noriega’s sister Parker styled some of his famous friends, including Nailea Devora and Nessa Barrett

Cooper and his sister Parker shared many interests, including a love of fashion. Parker is a stylist and personal shopper who’s styled some of Cooper’s famous friends, including Nailea Devora and Nessa Barrett.

She recently styled Jaden Hossler during his music tour. Parker posts Instagram photos of celebrities she’s styled, placing the #styledbyparkerblaine hashtag in the caption.

Parker’s LinkedIn page revealed that she worked as an assistant stylist for Mimi Cuttrell and Jill Jacobs before launching her business in January 2021.

Cooper and Parker were incredibly close. She wrote on his Instagram page that the family was grateful for people’s kind words. “His passing is an absolute tragedy to our family and loved ones,” Parker wrote. “He loved each and every one of you.”

Parker encouraged people to reach out to the family as the Noriegas needed all the support they could get. On her Instagram page, she shared photos of herself and Cooper’s best moments from their childhoods to recent times.

She described the date of his death as life-changing. “My heart is shattered… this doesn’t feel real… I will never be the same,” Parker wrote. “I know you’re watching down on me now… I feel it. I love you forever and ever.” Parker continued:

“Cooper struggled with mental health and addiction but he was so passionate about making sure no one ever felt alone. His Discord will remain active in his honor so please continue to join Coop’s Advise. He loved each and everyone of you.”

Days before his death, Cooper opened a Discord where people could talk freely about mental health. Cooper shared that he wanted to spread awareness and normalize discussions about mental health. He wrote:

“One of the many things I’ve learned when struggling with addiction was that surrounding yourself with negative people will only bring you down. For that reason, this Discord is meant to bring us all together and create a safe space where people can vent and help others through their tough times.”

Cooper also opened up about plans to open a rehab center for people struggling with mental health.
